The Metro District is a governmental entity governed by a five-member Board of Directors. The guiding parameters are legislated by the state of Colorado and the Metro District Service Plan. All homeowners are charged non-potable irrigation fees, operations fees, and property taxes by the Metro District. The District maintains District-owned public property including internal streets and sidewalks (with snow removal in the winter), landscaping along internal and perimeter roads, and the various common areas throughout the community.
As detailed in the District's Service Plan, the District is authorized to incure a maxiumum debt of $16,000,000.00. The "Mill Levy Cap" shall be 50 mills. No additional revenue other than property taxes is used to pay back debt.
